Fusion Bionic

Fusion Bionic is a solution provider for laser-generated functional surfaces using bio-inspired principles (e.g. from the Lotus leaf and Moth-eye effect). We have been founded as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS in order to (r)evolutionize surfaces using laser technology.

Our core solution is based on a unique laser technology called Direct Laser Interference Patterning DLIP which is highly suitable to treat product surfaces at high speeds up to 3 m² / min, thus making our approach a true alternative to well established surface processes such as coating solutions as well as sand blasting.

Fusion Bionic was founded by 4 young entrepreneurs (Laura Kunze, Benjamin Krupop, Sabri Alamri, Tim Kunze) aiming to improve products and processes through laser technology. 3 of 4 founders met at the Fraunhofer IWS while the fourth founder joined from an external company. We are passionated about surfaces and love to bring innovation to products through the power of biomimetic principles ("learn from nature").
