Über die Firma

We are the Malandra Cachaça: a handcrafted, artisanal, and sustainable spirit. We created Malandra to bring a part of Brazil's culture and history to Germany and offer a product that consumers would love. We developed a cachaça that was created especially for the market: in taste and design. The German market is already the second-largest cachaça consumer in the world, and tendency studies already show that consumers are more and more willing to buy artisanal products instead of industrial ones.

Malandra is an artisanal, handcrafted, and sustainable cachaça with high-quality and produced in the countryside of Brazil. We have two options that fits the taste of any customer:

> Malandra Crystal (500ml or 50ml, 40%vol) is aged for 1,5 years in Stainless Steel barrels (6 months) and Cariniana, a Brazilian native tree barrel (1 year), has notes of orange, lemon and coconut.

> Malandra Oak (500ml or 50ml, 40%.vol) is aged for 2,5 years in Stainless Steel barrels (6 months), Cariniana, a Brazilian native tree barrel (1 year), and European Oak barrel (1 year), it has notes of cherry, vanilla and honey.

> We are the only cachaça brand offering small size bottles as a tasting set.

> We also offer courses about cachaça tasting.

We met each other while working together at Nextel Telecom in São Paulo 6 years ago. From the professional relationship, we became friends and dreamed about opening a business together one day. However we had to postpone our plans, when Tássia Varani was accepted at Freie Universität Berlin.

After noticing a lack of quality cachaça in Germany, Tássia took a hint from her husband to bring a traditional product to Berlin. And so the idea of Malandra was born. In order to structure the business, Tássia invited Andreia to be her partner: Tássia takes care of the side of business in Germany, while Andreia takes care of the production and logistics from Brazil.

The name Malandra comprises the attitude of the founders, the message they want to spread with cachaça and naturally their position as female founders in a heavily masculine industry. We joined forces with a local partner in Brazil to produce a handcrafted and sustainable cachaça that we would be proud to drink and offer in the market. We want to change the way cachaça is perceived and tasted in Germany and Europe, spreading the culture and tradition of this Brazilian spirit.
