1/3 of globally produced food is wasted every year, which is 1 Trillion $ and the food service market alone is responsible for 20% of that. On average 50.000€ worth of food are wasted in a German gastronomy every year. One of the major reasons for this happening is that most chefs still rely on pen & paper, excel sheets and gut-feeling to plan and forecast their menu.

Mitakus is a SaaS-based solution for restaurants and commercial food service operators that is designed to replace traditional paper-based menu planning with a sophisticated and easy-to-use machine learning-based platform.

We help chefs and owners to reduce food waste and cost resulting from surplus in ordering and production, by providing a demand prediction of guests and daily food servings that is based on Machine Learning methods.

Our team consist of 5 people with sales, software development and data science background. The team met during during the search for a ground breaking idea.
