Alae

Alae was founded in 2026 in Frankfurt am Main. It started in the server room of a law firm close to us that wanted to use AI, but would never send client files to the cloud. Every AI solution on the market would have required exactly that. So we turned the question around: if the data can’t go to the AI, we bring the AI to the data.

Our mission is to make powerful AI usable for every organisation whose most valuable knowledge is too sensitive for the cloud, from law firms and the Mittelstand to industry, financial services and public institutions. Our long-term vision is to become Europe’s leading platform for local AI, so that organisations can use AI without giving up control over their data.

Alae is a local AI platform that runs entirely on the customer’s own infrastructure, from the knowledge base to the AI models. It consists of three products. Cortex, the company brain, connects files, emails and systems and answers questions with sources and permissions. Imago is a personal knowledge twin that preserves the expertise of key people. Acta turns this context into work with agents and automated workflows.

What sets us apart: many AI tools that promise data protection keep the data local, but still send every question to a model in someone else’s data center. With Alae, both data and models stay in the building. Customers get a complete, ready-to-use stack instead of having to build local AI themselves.
