• Mechanism of Action: Aprotinin, a protease inhibitor, blocks the initial pathogenic step by inhibiting the activation of viral spike proteins. This prevents the virus from docking and entering human lung cells.

• Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Effective against various respiratory viruses, including influenza, parainfluenza and coronaviruses, with no observed viral resistance.

• Safety: Administered as a local aerosol with a dose ~1,000 to 2,000 times lower than approved intravenous applications, resulting in no observed, significant systemic absorption and a good safety profile.
