The fashion online trade is desperately looking for a solution to minimize returns worldwide. More than 50% of all orders are returned, up to 74% of these due to the wrong size.

There are a few suggested solutions out there which aim to minimize returns by offering solutions to guide the customers into finding their true size for specific garments. However, these have not yet proven to be effective in practice, as they are only estimates or recommendations of the true size, and indeed not a representation of the precise size and fit for the customer. Kaminski Solutions has developed the software / app SIZZE on the basis of AI, which tackles exactly this problem.

SIZZE is able to measure the garment’s exact dimensions with millimeter precision based on a photo taken. This enables online fashion retailers to give their customers the exact measurements of each item of clothing. An integrated body measurement enables the customer to measure himself and then compare his measurements with the clothing measurements. According to our forecasts, this would save online sellers € 15.00 per returned item (in addition to the high level of staff required).

The prototype works very well. Testers are enthusiastic. The patent has been published and will be granted shortly.
